The Chief Minister of Assam convenes with the European Union Ambassador in New Delhi.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025 Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited European Union Ambassador to India, Hervé Delphin, at his official residence in New Delhi. The CM thanked Delphin and, via him, the chiefs of the EU members for their support of the just finished Advantage Assam Summit 2.0 in Guwahati during the conference. The two covered prospects for cooperation in fields like renewable energy, semiconductors, higher education, skill development, the aromatics and fragrance business.
Delphin told the CM that Guwahati is under consideration for the opening of an EU Program Management Office.

Under the direction of the Ministry of External Affairs, Sarma praised the development and guaranteed his government’s whole support to it.

“Today in New Delhi, they had a great conversation on prospects for cooperation on sustainable energy, semiconductors, higher education, skill development, and in the aromatics and fragrance sector. Happy to see that the EU is also looking at opening a Program Management Office in Guwahati. Assam will totally back it under the direction of MEA, GoI”, the chief minister later tweeted on ‘X’.

Amit Shah will visit Assam from March 14 to 16 to participate in various events.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam from March 14 to 16, when he is expected to participate in several events, including the Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), according to senior officials of the Assam Government.

As per the official announcement, Shah is scheduled to arrive in Jorhat on March 14 and would inaugurate the newly upgraded Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon on March 15.

The Home Minister is scheduled to visit Mizoram on March 15, prior to going to Assam for additional engagements.

The Home Minister will participate in the concluding session of the 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in Kokrajhar, Assam, on March 16. The ABSU Annual Conference is scheduled for March 13 to 16 at the Bodofa Fwthar region in Kokrajhar district.

This conference honors Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, as Dotma is his place of birth. The assembly will convene policymakers, educators, and community leaders to engage in conversations regarding education, youth development, and sustainable advancement,” stated an official announcement.
